Population  16,000 (1984 census).
Region  Equateur Province, Sud Ubangi, Libenge Territory, north of Libenge, from Boyabo crossroads east to Budu and north to Oro; south of Libenge, mixed with Mbandja [zmz] and other language groups.

Classification  Niger-Congo, Atlantic-Congo, Volta-Congo, North, Adamawa-Ubangi, Ubangi, Banda, Southwestern
Language use  Also use Lingala [lin]. Use of Mono [mnh], Mbandja, or Ngbaka [nga] is receptive only.
