Dialects  Most similar language: Sherdukpen [sdp]. Lexical similarity: 49%–60% with Sherdukpen.
Classification  Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman
Language use  Home, village. All ages. A few also use Hindi.
Language development  Literacy rate in L2: 5% in Hindi. Literature committee formed mid 2003.
Writing system  Devanagari script, no longer in use, plans for future development using this script. Latin script.
