Region  Maharashtra; Andhra Pradesh; Madhya Pradesh; Gujarat; widely scattered.
Alternate names   Bahelia, Chita Pardhi, Lango Pardhi, Paidia, Paradi, Paria, Phans Pardhi, Takankar, Takia
Dialects  Neelishikari, Pittala Bhasha, Takari, Haran Shikari. Probably more than 1 language (Lango). Possibly a dialect of Bhili [bhb].
Classification  Indo-European, Indo-Iranian, Indo-Aryan, Central zone, Bhil
Comments  Reported speak Gujarati [guj] and Hindi as L1 in Madhya Pardhi; a Scheduled Tribe in Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, and a Scheduled Caste in Madhya Pradesh. Reportedly, the Pardhi Tribe speak Gujarati. The Scheduled Caste in Madhya Pradesh reportedly speak Hindi as mother tongue. (Singh 1995). Different than Paradhi, who speak Kachchi [kfr]. Hunter-gatherers; mixed commerce; agriculturalists. Traditional religion.
