| Population | 19. Known by most people on the Island including 19 born deaf out of 2,500 to 3,000 population (W. Washabaugh 1986). |
| Region | Providencia Island off Nicaraguan coast. |
| Dialects | Not exposed to other sign languages. East differs from west with some variation between villages. |

| Language development | Do not use finger spelling. |
| Comments | High deaf population probably caused by in-breeding. Deaf fairly well integrated into daily activities. The system is about 100 years old. Nearly extinct. |
