Region  Southwest Iran, Fars and South Kohgiluyeh va Boyerahmad Province. Shiraz, Gachsaran, and Firuzabad are centers.
Alternate names   Kashkai, Qashqai, Qashqa’I, Qashqay
Dialects  Similar to Azerbaijani [azb].
Classification  Altaic, Turkic, Southern, Azerbaijani
Language use  Vigorous. Home, commerce. All ages. Also use Western Farsi [pes].
Language development  Many can read Farsi well.
Writing system  Arabic script.
Comments  Nomadic. Rug weavers; pastoralists: sheep, donkeys, camels. Muslim (Shi’a).
