Population  400 (Adelaar 2000), increasing. 50 monolinguals. Ethnic population: 419 (Adelaar 2000) to over 600 (2000 P. Priest).
Region  Eastern Beni and northwestern Santa Cruz Departments, Ibiato (Eviato) village; along the Río Blanco in farms and ranches.

Dialects  Similar to Yuqui [yuq].
Classification  Tupi, Tupi-Guarani, Subgroup II
Language use  Parents pass Sirionó on to children, but want them to learn Spanish. Religious services. All ages. Positive attitude. 5%–10% are monolingual, others also use Spanish.
Language development  Literacy rate in L1: 40%. 250 can read, 50 can write. Taught in primary schools. Dictionary. NT: 1977.
Writing system  Latin script.
Comments  Whistle speech reported. Agriculturalists. Christian.
