Population  80 (2000 D. Bradley). Ethnic population: 500.
Region  Kanchanaburi, Uthai Thani, Suphanburi.
Alternate names   ’Ugong, Gong, Lawa, Ugawng
Dialects  Kok Chiang, Suphanburi. Not closely related to other languages.
Classification  Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Lolo-Burmese, Loloish, Southern
Language use  No longer spoken in most former locations. Children speak Thai as L1. 80 adults in the home. Mainly older adults. All also use some variety of Thai.
Comments  Distinct from Lawa [cbn] in the Palaung-Wa branch of Mon-Khmer. They were relocated because of dam construction.
