Region  Maharashtra, Amravati, Buldana, Akola districts; Madhya Pradesh, Chhindwara and Balaghat districts; Andhra Pradesh, Adilabad and Nizamabad districts.
Alternate names   Berar Marathi, Berari, Dhanagari, Kumbhari, Madhya Pradesh Marathi
Dialects  Brahmani, Kunbi, Raipur, Jhadpi, Govari, Kosti (Rangari), Kunban (Kohli), Mahari (Dhedi). Regarded by some as a dialect of Marathi [mar]. More distinct varieties are Marheti, Natakani, Katiyai dialect of Malvi [mup].
