Region  Adamawa state, Michika LGA, Madagali District. Also in Cameroon.

Dialects  Vemgo, Mabas, Visik (Vizik). 56% intelligibility with Lamang [hia], 36% intelligibility with Hide [xed]. Possibly intelligible with Mafa [maf]. Lexical similarity: 78% with Hide, 64% with Lamang, 50% with Gvoko [ngs].
Classification  Afro-Asiatic, Chadic, Biu-Mandara, A, A.4, Lamang
Language use  Also use Fulfulde [fuv], Mafa, Hide, or Psikye [kvj].
Comments  ‘Maya’ may be an alternate name. Different from Maba of Chad. Pastoralists; agriculturalists. Traditional religion, Christian.
