Washington: Port Angeles and northeast Olympic Peninsula.

9 (Reawakening). Language of registered tribe: Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, Lower Elwha Tribal Community, Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, Skokomish Indian Tribe.

Dialects

Reportedly similar to the Saanich dialect of Straits Salish [str].

Language Development

Dictionary. Grammar. Taught as a heritage language K-12 at a handful of schools on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state, including at Port Angeles High School.
