Language Use

Mostly the older generations speak it, but it could be shifting up in use.

Taught in a few schools. Two local universities have faculties of Crimean Tatar. Literature. Newspapers. TV. Grammar. Bible: 2016.


Cyrillic script [Cyrl], primary usage. Latin script [Latn], official use since 1997.

Other Comments

Sometimes confused with, but distinct from, Tatar [tat]. Muslim.
