Dear Sir or Madam I would like you to please add the following information about Gyong(Kagoma) on your website. 1. The indigenous name is Gyong while the speakers are referred to as Gong. Kagoma is a colonial name given by Hausa speakers. Is it possible for Gyong be reflected on Ethnologue website instead of Kagoma? 2. Apart from Grammar, extensive study has been done on the Phonology and Classification of Gyong. Kyari, J (2005) Agreement and Concord Phenomena in Gyong ( Kagoma), PhD Thesis , SOAS University of London. Kyari J (1996)The Descriptive Aspects of Gyong Phonolgy, MA Thesis , University Jos Nigeria. Translation and Literacy: Portions of the Bible: All the books of the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs have been translated. We are currently doing the final revision, with a view to publishing the NT by the end of 2017. I would appreciate it if the information regarding the development of Gyong is updated on your website. Your faithfully Dr Joseph Kyari
We will change the name from Kagoma to Gyong for this language [kdm] in Nigeria, to be included in the 20th edition of the Ethnologue.
