Western Australia state: Jigalong area, Lake Disappointment west side, Great Sandy Desert.

Dialects

Manyjilyjara (Mantjiltjara, Manyjilyjarra), Kartujarra (Gagudjara, Gardudjara, Kadaddjara, Kardutjara, Kardutjarra, Kartutjara, Kiadjara), Puditara (Budidjara, Putujara), Yulparitja (Yilparitja, Yulbaridja, Yulparija), Wangkajunga (Wangkajungka, Wangkajunka). Manyjilyjara and Kartujarra are 2 ethnic groups speaking almost identical dialects. High inherent intelligibility between Yulparitja and Wangkajunga dialects. Puditara dialect is extinct.

Language Use

Also use Kriol [rop], Kukatja [kux], Walmajarri [wmt]. Used as L2 by Kukatja [kux].
