L1 users: 3,000 (1991 SIL). 700 in Gandoua dialect (2014 SIL).

Location

Adamawa region: Mayo-Banyo division, Bankim subdivision, 9 villages: Dembesse, Gandoua, Gaoula, Kassala, Mbassewa, Mbenguedje, Ndi, Oumyari, and Yabam west of Banyo.

Language Use

Still transmitted to children, but much mixing with other languages (2014 SIL). Many also use French [fra], Vute [vut]. Also use Adamawa Fulfulde [fub].
